The closed shell-and-tube condenser in which cooling water flows horizontally through the horizontal tube bundle under pressure is often used in large and medium-sized ammonia or Freon refrigeration units. Placed horizontally, the water flows through it several times. The cooling water has a long stroke, a large flow rate, and a high water-side heat transfer coefficient; the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet water is obviously large under the condition of reducing the amount of cooling water; the structure is compact and takes less space.
